Hearing schedule
Modes of hearing
The Tribunal holds its hearings in a hearing room, by videoconference, in writing, or some combination of those. A panel (the adjudicator(s) presiding over the hearing) has discretion to determine the mode of a hearing including the physical presence of participants in the hearing room, if applicable. For more information, see rule 9 of the Capital Markets Tribunal’s Rules of Procedure.
All currently scheduled hearings will proceed in the mode already ordered by a panel, unless the panel orders otherwise at the request of a party or on its own initiative.
All hearings are open to the public unless a panel orders otherwise.
Public and media access to hearings
Visual or audio recording of a hearing is prohibited unless it is solely for the viewer’s own note-taking purposes, or a panel grants permission. Requests for permission must be made in writing and sent to the Registrar and all parties at least five days before the hearing. A person who obtains permission to make a visual or audio recording will be subject to the directions of the panel and must not engage in any behaviour that detracts from the hearing.
To attend a hearing in the hearing room: The Tribunal’s hearing rooms are on the 17th floor at 20 Queen Street West in Toronto. The hearing rooms are accessible and include several assistive devices. Accessibility requests may be made by contacting the Registrar at least 30 days before the hearing at registrar@capitalmarketstribunal.ca so that reasonable accommodation can be arranged.
To observe a hearing by videoconference: select the “View by Zoom” or “Register to attend” link below on the hearing schedule.
In the spirit of truth and reconciliation, the Capital Markets Tribunal acknowledges that it is located in Toronto on the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Huron-Wendat peoples. Toronto is covered by Treaty 13, signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and by the Williams Treaty, signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
The Capital Markets Tribunal continues to seek meaningful ways to protect the earth and future benefactors for the peace, reconciliation and healthy environments being heralded by this Land Acknowledgement.
