Tribunal Metrics

The Capital Markets Tribunal publishes metrics which measure Tribunal activities. Tribunal metrics are published quarterly and annually:

Timeliness of reasons for decisions

The Tribunal aims to issue reasons for its decisions promptly, while allowing sufficient time for proper deliberation and writing. Some reasons take longer than others, due to the number of allegations, parties, interests asserted, hearing days or panel members, or due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Tribunal expects to issue its reasons for decision:

  • in simple applications and in motions heard outside a merits hearing, by a target date of 45 days after receipt of the last written or oral submissions of the parties, at least 90% of the time; and
  • for all other decisions, by a target date of 90 days after receipt of the last written or oral submissions of the parties, at least 80% of the time.
